The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles

 

The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles was a television series created by George Lucas to tell the Indiana Jones stories is his young age as we saw in the beginning of the Last Cruzade. Some episodes have the character around 10 years old play be Corey Carrier but in most episodes he has between 16 and 22 years old and is played by Sean Patrick Flanery.

In seasons 1 and 2 "Old Indy" bookend the segments, including the 4 unaired episodes “Florence, September 1909”, “Prague, August 1917”, “Palestine, October 1917” and “Transylvania, September 1918”. Although George Hall bookend the episode “Mystery of The Blues”, Harrison Ford also made a bookend, set in 1950.

Season III (1994-1996)

The third "season" consisted of four television movies which aired from 1994 to 1996. No "Old Indy" bookend segments were filmed for the television movies, although Sean Patrick Flanery bookended Young Indiana Jones and the Travels with Father.

Film versions

In 1996, George Lucas hired T.M. Christopher to aid in re-editing the complete series into twenty-two feature-length episodes. Four new episodes was produce and segments added in the middle of 90 minutes episodes for continuity. The series was also retitled The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones. Each chapter contains two episodes, with all the chapters being in chronological order. As such, the scenes where the Old Indy reminisces, are never seen in these versions. Nevertheless they are available in StooTV YouTube channel.

This is a passion project (2019) in the vein of the Star Wars Despecialized that tried to revert the changes made by George Lucas in the Star Wars original trilogy. The idea is to have a version of the films as were shown in the movie theaters in 1977, 1980 and 1983. For the Yong Indy the intent is the same to have a version of the series as shown in the television in its original run in the nineties with the Old Indy introductions and bookends. As the Star Wars original trilogy was never released in High Definition (the best released versions was the LaserDisks) the Young Indy original version was also not released. So this YouTube channel has the episodes the way they originally aired on american television back in 1992 and '93.
