Cobra Kai

Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues is surpriselly good. When was announced I admite I had mix feelings. My initial impression was that YouTube just want to cash in a beloved franchise from the 80s. But after watching the first 2 episodes (free on YouTube) I could not stop. I signed YouTubeRed (first month is free) and binge watch the 10 half hour episodes in 2 days. Revisiting those characters was great. I recommend.  RottenTomatoes has a 100% score from critics and 98% from audience.  After watching the series I felt compelled to rewatch the movies (only parts 1, 2, 3). Star Wars Fan Film: Dresca is a must.  This short film is high quality and for the Legends fans is even better because the main character is almost Mara Jade.

Poe was the best character in the movie; we really want to follow him and see his growth as the hero and maybe the leader of the Resistance in the next movie. (Carrie Fischer died, so Leia has to die) Kylo Ren is still a conflicted character and very interesting. By far the only villain we care about. Hux and Snoke are wasted (more of this below). Luke and Rey’s scenes are good, but should have more of Luke actually teaching her. Leia using the Force was great. That’s the kind of unexpected we want. Just a little side note: from whom she learned? In the Star Wars The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary states was not from Luke. R2 could have more scenes ...
